Estonia will build fence along the border with Russia




The tense situation between Ukraine and Russia has forced Estonia to seriously consider building a "fence" along its border east to Russia, but also to prevent illegal crossing of the border of persons attempting to enter the area "Schengen".
Estonia's Interior Ministry has announced that it is anticipated that the construction of stretches along 110 kilometers of the border, while the height of the "fence" will be about 2.5 meters. The project is expected to begin in 2018 and is estimated to cost about 80 million dollars.
This project was made public by continuing Estonia amid tensions between Russia and the West over the conflict in Ukraine. Also, Europe is facing a growing influx of migrants.
"The purpose of the building is completely covered the land border, creating ideal conditions to achieve this", said the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior of Estonia, Toomas VIKS to "AFP".
The fence will be built about a third of the border between Russia and Estonia, as the rest is covered by water.
