Amy Poehler tells fans not to seek fame and fortune when starting a career in Hollywood but rather focus on 'doing good stuff'!

She is one of the most famous comediennes in the world. But Amy Poehler has told her fans to not seek fame and fortune when starting out in Hollywood. The SNL vet was speaking at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in the Chelsea neighbourhood of New York on Friday. The 43-year-old Parks And Recreation star said, 'If the goal is doing good stuff and working with your friends … if you're doing that then you're succeeding,' reported People. 'It happens rarely and when that is your goal – being famous and making money – then you're not paying attention to the things that will make you money.'

Poehler was accompanied by her fellow Upright Citizens Brigade co-founders Matt Besser, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh. Fellow U.C.B original, Horatio Sanz was also in attendance. She joined her fellow alumni from the improv group as they were brought together for the press conference as part of the 17th Annual Del Close Improv Comedy Marathon. Amy sported a navy blue T-shirt with Upright Citizens Brigade emblazoned across it with her name 'Amy' hand-written on it with black marker. She did add a bit of style to the top as she sported skinny black jeans and black leather pumps.
