Taraji P. Henson brought the star power on Thursday for the hit Fox show Empire during a press tour as a new trailer was released for its upcoming second season. The 44-year-old actress portrays the tough Cookie Lyon on the drama co-created by Lee Daniels and also co-starring 46-year-old Terrence Howard. Taraji wore a long-sleeved slate green dress to the Television Critics Association press tour event held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Fox also released a new 70-second trailer on Thursday for the upcoming 18-episode season, while Daniels, 55, told the TV critics there will be a spin-off of Empire based on Cookie's younger years. 'Without question. There's so much ripe story that we've talked about already, about Cookie's family, what makes her her. That in itself is fascinating to me,' Daniels said. Daniels during the panel also said his reaction to Empire not receiving an Emmy nomination for Best Drama was taken out of context, according to E! News
