MH370 investigators launch new search for debris around Reunion Island as victims' relatives demand to join the hunt after French authorities cast doubt over hopes more wreckage has washed up

MH370 investigators have pledged to launch new air, land and sea searches for debris around Reunion Island after a wing from the ill-fated plane washed up on its shores last week. Yesterday the Malaysian Government claimed their team had also discovered seats and windows from the plane washed up ashore but French authorities reacted with puzzlement to the announcement. Meanwhile, Chinese relatives of passengers aboard the missing flight today demanded to be taken to the French island so that they could join the hunt for clues about the fate of their loved ones.
They are little parts, but the debris cannot be verified if it belongs to MH370. It has to be verified by the French authorities. French officials involved with the investigation in both Paris and Reunion were baffled by Liow's announcement; none were aware of any discovery or material in French custody. The Paris prosecutor's office, which is spearheading a French legal inquiry into the crash, later denied there was any new debris, before French officials notoriously cautious when it comes to air accident investigations again retreated into silence.
